Strap Pin Screw...

Anyone have a suggestion to keep it tight? Seems like every time I go to put my strap on the screw that holds the back strap pin has worked itself loose. Longer screw? Glue in the hole?

Thanks!
Chris

i always just broke off a wooden matchstick or a toothpick and crammed that in the strap-pin hole and screwed the pin back on...haven't had one "hit the deck" yet...

Always use hardwood toothpicks. Matches and softwood toothpicks will soon go the same way - too soft.

Gently tap in one or two, screw the button back on and your set!

LLS...Larger...Longer...Screw...it's not a critical Historic Part...it's job is to hold the Strap pin securely...Bigger is better....Save the toothpicks for your teeth.

To be sure to be sure - a larger longer screw, plus a few matches. My tele's been like that for maybe 25 years now.

I like that. LLS.

In most cases, it don't need to be bigger diameter if the extra length is screwing into fresh virgin wood. But check because someone could have substituted a bigger diameter already and wallered that sucker out real good! The original screw for a standard Tele strap button is a #6 x 1" oval head. Find you a 2" or more and you should be fine.
