Forming a new band

We will be playing some Christian songs, but we don't want to market ourselves as a Christian band. If we do, we will only get saved people to come see the shows. We would prefer a secular crowd to come see the show so we can witness to them.

So we will be playing some songs by Christian artists, but we will also be playing some secular songs that are uplifting.

For example U2 "Where the Streets Have No Name" and "Beautiful Day"

Anyone have any good ideas on some secular songs that would fit this format?

I've done this with my band. For some reason the motorcylists and car guys really like us. We do what we call "God-friendly" music, love songs, Chuck Berry, old soul, etc. When Love Comes to Town, I Can See Clearly Now, and Whenever God Shines His Light are consistent hits.

"Spirit in the Sky" maybe? Switchfoot stuff?

I've been thinking of doing some old country gospel/bluegrass songs and even some Elvis gospel and mix with my other honky tonk stuff

I'm not sure how well "Beautiful Day" will mix with "Will the Circle Be Unbroken". Could be interesting!

I don't see us playing any unbroken circles. ;-)

We'll most likely play Third Day and Darrell Evans type stuff

Tom Petty "I Won't Back Down" would be another good example of a secular song.
