i was just wondering if the parts from stewmac were good?
im looking to buy the parts i need for my first telecaster body build, mainly im wondering about their bridges, the have gotoh at wilkinson, or traditional bridges, and i wanted to know what the differences were?

The parts and supplies I have gotten from StewMac are pretty decent. They also ship quickly. The Gotoh made parts I have seen have all been quality steel. The other Asian stuff I have seen made in China, Korea or Tawian is really soft metal. The cheap tuners I have seen look just like the much more expensive Gotoh but the metal is really soft. They can't last as long.

I know their pots are made by Alpha (just got some; work really well) and their necks are by Mighty Mite, if that helps.

Never had a problem with stewmac. Their cheapest tele bridge was just that.

The wilkinson bridge is great.

All other hardware has been terrific.

i've been using them for 15 years, and only had 1 problem with a mighty mite neck, which they shipped me a swap out with overnight shipping (at no further cost). for the most part their parts and materials are good. i think some of their tool prices are too high, so i usually make my own if i can't part with that money....

I ordered a pickguard that was badly miscut. The brigde cut was waaaayy off.

I agree 100% with both statements. Granted, if I were a professional luthier, the industrial tool prices would be less of an issue vs. the usage.
