ReIgnition August 19th, 2009, 01:14 PM Very nice photo and Tele all around. I love Muddy too !
Dogbear August 19th, 2009, 11:54 PM Mine looks a little different since I installed a Parsons Green B Bender, a black single ply pickguard, a Seymour Johnson neck pickup and four way switching.

Joe-Bob August 21st, 2009, 09:35 PM I never really even considered owning a Telecaster until I came across A Muddy in a store. Now I have one, and I love it.
BTW--I've only ever seen a Muddy in a store twice. What's up with that?
WYfish August 25th, 2009, 10:22 AM I'm joining the club. I bought a MW on a whim in 2004 and have been loving it ever since. When I bought it, I was looking for a good tele. I knew who MW was, and figured hey, why not, and got it from an online retailer. Didn't know how great it was until after I got it. I love the pickups on it. While there are plenty of other teles out there that would be cool to own, I see no need to ever buy another one.
Charles Obscure September 30th, 2009, 05:02 PM I've had mine for a few years. Reversed the control plate for kicks, added compensated saddles and a black pg because the white one warped.

Chip January 30th, 2010, 02:00 PM Blueblood,
I thought if I mentioned the club in that other thread you might find us.
Welcome aboard!
You are my Muddy Tele hero. I think yours was the one that pushed me
over the edge to get mine and for that I owe you a big THANK YOU.

Chip February 15th, 2010, 10:44 AM What if the pickguard has the correct shape?
AjayTele February 15th, 2010, 03:07 PM I never thought of that...
vintage918 March 18th, 2010, 04:37 PM Might as well give it a go... my first post that is. My MW Tele was my first Tele and I fell in love, so glad to pick it up new at a close-out price just as Fender discontinued this model. The paint finish is superb, this is a real beauty for a MIM, with an especially sweet neck. I was revved to take it all black: pick guard, control plate, six saddle bridge. What's with that super cheesey white single ply? But after I had all the parts and learned it was no longer being produced, backed right off and kept it totally original. Still think it would look very sharp in black-out mode...
Chip March 19th, 2010, 09:54 PM Welcome to the club vintage!
stickswinger March 25th, 2010, 02:50 AM What is the price range of a muddy water telecaster on eBay? (completed listing and buy it now) There's none on ebay right now. (sorry, I accidentally asked this same question on another thread before I found this current one) Thanks.
scantron81 March 25th, 2010, 07:04 AM They don't pop up very often on Ebay. The last one on Ebay went up on MLK day for $315. It had ONE bid. I was delivering a motorcycle and forgot to bid on it (still kicking myself!!!). The going rate on Craigslist is anywhere from $450-$750.
Spunky March 25th, 2010, 12:52 PM I would like to join as well, I love my Muddy had it since 2001 and have not changed a thing but it is an amazing Tele for Sure.

IamBlue July 22nd, 2010, 01:38 PM I'll revive this thread......my first Tele, 2000 MW, mint guard, chrome knobs, comp saddles. Rest is stock. Right now I've got the neck off, given it a level, cleaning etc. I love the tone of this guitar, just never bonded w/ the amp knobs. I'll post a pic when she's back together.
titaniumslide March 9th, 2011, 02:21 PM Hi everyone,
I have had mine for a couple of years now and I love it. My MW is stock and I plan to keep it that way, I really like the 9.5" neck radius w/ the rosewood fret board.
At first, I did not know if I would like a red guitar, but it has grown on me and now I have bought another guitar with this finish. The new one is a Classic Player Jaguar. The Muddy Waters finish is a little bit lighter in color than the Jaguar.

I'm in! Got a nice deal on it.
Doctor E June 21st, 2012, 03:29 PM I am selling my dead mint Muddy Waters Tele. It was a tough decision but I am financing a BF DR. I bought it "new old stock" from Rockin Robin's guitars in Houston Texas 2-3 years ago. It has never left the house and played sparingly. Hardshell excellent+ condition hardcase included. The guitar is currently set up with 11s and tuned a whole step down. $775 includes shipping via UPS ground, paypal only. I'll be posting the sale here and on Ebay
blutek June 23rd, 2012, 09:29 AM Hi MW's.
I would like to replace my white Pickguard with a Texas Flag PG.
Other than having an extra screw, are MW PG's swapable with the standard tele PGs?
Mine has 11s and has been setup to Eb too, since new.
I got my order through (built) just before they stopped selling them.
Been also considering a Hwy1 Texas Tele to keep in standard tuning. I'm thinking they may sound fairly similar.
bluesfordan June 23rd, 2012, 09:43 AM I saw one for sale back 2 weeks ago, it languished for a while. Good price, good weight. I was waiting until after I got word from an impending eye doctor appointment, didn't know how much I would be spending since I don't have insurance. Turns out, way less than I thought, but the guitar sold before then.
