Paulownia body for a Strat?

Anybody using one?

And if so, what do you think?

From the little bit I've read about this wood, it's touted as being very light and very resonant, but can be a bit soft.

It's that last bit that concerns me a bit in a body that has a trem.

From what I've read I wouldn't hesitate building a hardtail Strat out of it. Not sure about one with a trem.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Cheers,
Geoff

Musikraft very recently had one on eBay which didn't sell, although it was very reasonably priced.

Anyway, on a more personal note, I've had a bad experience with pine and would never make that mistake again - soft as ******. I had a chat with the guys at Musikraft about it and they concur that Polonia is softer than pine. That put me right off - I'll stick with ash in future!

I dare say there'll now be a flood of msgs slating me about this, just as I did when bemoaning the dubious characteristics of pine on here a while ago.

Well, opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one and that's mine!
