V-Pickjsntg July 20th, 2009, 03:12 PM Anybody have any experience with this (http://www.v-picks.com/picks/32)? Hugh Rasputan July 20th, 2009, 07:27 PM Not with that particular one. I use the Large Pointed Ultra- Lite. You can hear a definite difference in the tone. It gives the guitar a warmer sound. At least to my old ears. ================================ <><> Rasputan <><> thebluesbarn July 20th, 2009, 07:36 PM I love thier screamers! Thanks for the reminder!!! :) tomringg July 20th, 2009, 08:04 PM I like the small pointed. They had them on special a while back for $2.50. B Valley July 21st, 2009, 07:14 AM I've been looking at all the local stores for them. I don't really want to order them if I'm not going to like them. Astro1176 July 21st, 2009, 11:55 AM I got a set of 6 different ones - and they are pretty cool. They feel great to hold, but for me the range of sound they offer isn't radically different from dunlop chubbies or ultex jazz etc. rotren July 23rd, 2009, 01:59 PM I have a variety of sizes, and I like all of them. I like the first model he ever made the best. thebluesbarn July 23rd, 2009, 02:26 PM I've been looking at all the local stores for them. I don't really want to order them if I'm not going to like them. I ordered a few (freakishly?) large ones, they sent a couple other popular sizes in there too. Turned out that the screamer is the exact size I was looking for. Don't let them only being mail order scare you, it's only a few bucks! CodeBlue July 23rd, 2009, 06:22 PM I use a variety of them & absolutely LOVE mine, great company. They take a litlle getting used to but once you do, you won't wanna go back to whatever you were using before. Rasputan July 23rd, 2009, 09:48 PM I've tried a million picks and always go back to Fender mediums. Are they similar to the medium? I've found the Ultra-Lites to be the closest to the Fender Mediums. ================================== <><> Rasputan <><> Kingpin July 23rd, 2009, 09:49 PM I found the V picks to have a very "chirpy" atttack, particularly when used with an archtop or acoustic guitar. The ultra-light is the least chirpy. It's a bright sounding pick if that is what you're after. One positive I should mention: V picks do feel great in your hand -- they don't slip or move around, even with a light grip. stxrus July 25th, 2009, 03:15 PM i still have my original 4 (2 small rounded & 2 small pointy) and usually go to a screamer. great picks, Vinni's a nice guy, and fantastic service the diamond looks a bit too much though. steve david_lewis93 July 31st, 2009, 07:34 PM Jim Dulop .73mm. and an emery board to shape the points,,,been using them for 25 years and love them. Shepherd August 1st, 2009, 04:41 AM Must be pretty hard to find if you drop one though. |
