Jeff Beck Truth Wah Wah

What type of Wah Wah does Jeff Beck use on the Truth album in particular I Ain't Superstitious? It sounds fabulous!

Colorsound.

The Colorsound was his fuzz pedal from the Yardbirds era if I am not mistake. I think he favored the Vox Wah pedal for Jeff Beck Group era. I saw him on his first tour!

From what I read the Colorsound was a wah pedal. Obviously they are not around any more. Is there anything on the market that sounds similar or was it perhaps Beck's technique that makes it sound so good?

The Solasound Colorsound was a wah pedal. There's a reissue out there now. The originals fetch big bucks. The buzzbox he used with the Yardbirds I believe was a Vox Tonebender.

I owned one of the original Vox wah's and it sounded right. I was just getting serious about playing an electric guitar when Truth came out. It's possible I picked up the Vox because equipment was much harder to come by back then.

You can build yourself a clone of the Colorsound into a Crybaby/Vox case, or possibly mod a Crybaby/Vox to the old Colorsound specs. Wah's are VERY basic effects to build/mod.
