Hey I am new here, so pardon me if this is a repeat. I just finished building a homebrew esquire, well esquire no more! I just got a stuart BG bridge pup, (ebay-no wait) and it is totally righteous!! so, I was fiddlin', and took my red lace bridge pickup out of my old strat and threw it in the neck--two nasty soldering burns later. it is so awesome that I had to tell you all. the BG is up high and the red lace is lower than usual, but I got them balanced perfectly. Its not "authentic" tele from head to toe, but through my DRRI its blissfull. With a butler tube driver in front and a new four way, is crazy eddie nuts. now I have a tele and a strat (sort-of) in one heavy-ass package, (10 pounds ash-maple neck) I have a gig next saturday, can't wait. for all you number crunchers, the BG is 7.1 K and the red lace is a whopping 14 K. I also have 1 meg volume and 500k tone. Will get clips up soon. but first I need a new pickguard ...

if you have some unusual pickup combos, why not post 'em

fenderstatic, no doubt you have 2 great sounding positions but what about the middle pos, does it sound good too ?

I had that super Tele copy with a Duncan broadcaster bridge pup and a Joe Barden as neck pup. Extatic sounds but I was not convinced by the middle position... And I sold this guitar

Fred Stuart FTW!

The only 'weird' thing I have is a Fralin bridge and a Novak neck.

the middles are functional too. It has a four way, so the stock mid position is usable, its the bg with alot more bass, and position 4 (or is is 1?) is the "hot" combo position. to me is sounds like the mids are sucked out--maybe a rhythm postion-we see how things work out...
