Hi all. Im looking to buy a set of pickups for a Stratocaster. I think it must come down to Rose Pickups or Guitar Fetish. They are for a Stratocaster though. I have a Telecaster, so I really can't say which one is better. Any suggestions?

For the Money ($125 to 130 per set) you just can't beat the American Made Klein pickups.
I called up Chris Klein and he delivered exactly the tone I asked for.

Yes, they cost more than the GFS, but you get what you pay for.
BTW I got a S-1 neck and middle and a "P90" bridge pup and couldn't be happier.

Hi Jim, I looked at the Klein Pickups. They look nice, but they are a little out of my range. I think I will look into them for my Telecaster in the future. Thank you though

Lilly,
Have you looked at the reviews for pickups at www.harmony-central.com ?
I believe there are reviews there for the various GFS models.
Tell us what the guitar sounds like now, and what you want it to sound like after the pickup change.
To be honest, some of the MIJ Fender/Fernandes/Tokai Ceramic magnet pickups sound pretty good ......
BTW have you played around with adjusting the pickups you have?

These will be just above the GFS price, but they play like a $200 set of pickups. Look into the Bill Lawrence pickups. I have a set of Keystones in my tele and they are the best pickups I've ever played.

OK, I finally found the Rose Pickups website.
I would buy those before the GFS, even though they cost more.
I think the Rose pickups are made in CA. Is there any chance you could drop into the rose shop and play their shop guitars to see what the pups sound like?

Hi guys! Thanks for the replies. As far as what the stratocaster sounds like, ugh, IM not sure, it is my nephews, and I want to buy him a set as a graduation present. I liked the Kleins, and I will chekc out the lawrence website, but I think Im leaning towards the Rose pickups. They are in Livermore, which is about 20 minutes from my house. It says on there website that they have a demonstration of the pickups I think.. Thanks Jim!

When you get around to swapping your tele pups, think about what the guitar sounds like now and what tone YOU are looking for.
Everybody wants different their guitar to do different things.....

Thanks Jim ;) I will definitely keep that in mind. Hopefully by then I can look at my influences and myself, and have a good idea if what I am looking for!
