Fulltone '69 - Again!!!

I just scored a Fulltone '69 pedal off of Craigslist for $100!!!

I already had one for several years, but when Fulltone discontinued it, I took my mint condition pedal off of my board, gently put it back in it's box and put it in the closet for safe keeping. With prices going up to over $300 and sudden demand rising, I figured I'd better put it in a safe place instead of using it on my board playing out all the time.

Well, now that I have another one, I put my "new" one back on the board and keep my original one safe.
I had no idea how much I have missed the '69. There really is no other pedal like it. Many come close, but none of my many other Fuzz pedals have that certain extra.
I think the closest one I have to the Fulltone '69 is my MI Audio Neo Fuzz.

Anyways, I feel really lucky today!!!

Wow, thats cheap. Score!
I have a early analogman sunface (red dot nkt275). I feel the same way. If I had to sell up stuff, the sunface would be the next-to-last thing on the list, just before the guitar.

I've been through hundreds of pedals, and every once in a while I'll slap myself in the head for parting with a particular piece. The '69 is definitely one of those. It really is a great sounding and useful little germ fuzz, and mates better with overdrive pedals than most fuzzers I've played. My one beef was the modest output volume (which is fairly normal with a two germanium fuzz, so there were no big surprises there... Fulltone's three germ "Soulbender" and related boxes have more output, but don't clean up with the guitar's volume pot nearly so well as the '69, and are not as articulate). I used to boost mine with a Prescription Electronics Germ boost, which basically made the '69 sound like a louder '69, and the taper of the guitar's volume pot retained all the cool shades of gain as did a '69 alone.

I miss mine terribly, but enjoy yours!

the 69 was truly one of the best fuzz pedals I've played.
Congrats on getting 2! Wanna give me one?!

Anyone know why it was discontinued?

Well, if I'd give you one then I'd only have the one safely hidden in the closet left. That would defeat the purpose here ;)

I believe they were made with NOS germanium trannies and they are out of them.
