I'm pretty excited - as the title suggests - and wanted to share with you fellow bassists.
I tried out on bass for my first band in many many years (regardless of instrument) on Friday afternoon, and this morning got the call to say I'm in the band if I'd like (heck yes I'd like!). Its a classic rock oriented group, and I'm perfectly happy with that, though it sounds like they're open to doing some newer stuff as well.
The working name for the group is "Dirty Old Men", and seeing as how everyone else in the band is from 5 to 15 years older than me, it looks like I'll get all the "baby" jokes leveled at me. :)
Anyway, I just wanted all of you guys to know you (and the guitarists as well here) were a good part of the inspiration for me to get out of the bedroom/practice room and start looking for a way to play out a little. Oh, and I promise to not just "ride the root".
Thanks!
