Old Cane June 29th, 2009, 04:17 PM Hey, are those Rice basses any good? Just kidding, Chris. They all look great.
I've been using my Yamaha RBX 550 for about 20 years now. No complaints. I also just got an American Jazz from a guy I work with dirt cheap. I've been playing it alone for the last 2 months. I think I like it. I still think I'm going to refinish it but I'm in no hurry.
I may have to take pictures now.

Well sir, danged if that isn't one of the prettiest guitar shots I've seen. What classy instruments.
I've seriously thought of that CV Precision myself. I love single coil pre-'57 P-basses.
Muddslide July 28th, 2009, 02:08 AM In my 30+ years of playing, I played bass probably 70% of the time in bands and for pickup gigs and such.
Playing more guitar now because I'm just messing around and plan to do osme home recording.
But I still in many ways consider bass my first instrument, and it's always been my favorite instrument to compose on.
All I have at the moment is an SX P-copy. It's pretty darned nice though.
I've owned some stellar old basses in my day...including three pre-CBS Fenders. The one I miss the most, though, is a Tokai P-copy I got in the early 80s. Played a hundred gigs with that bass.
Wild Rice Chris July 28th, 2009, 02:39 AM Great collection and great pics. Love the Univox...looks like maybe you slapped an SD Quarter Pounder in there?
That's the original pickup. I've seen a few variations over the years, only one other with this pickup. It sounds very good, it was chosen over a used 60's Precision for the same money when it was new.
And that Squier CV is surprisingly cool.
