I've got a black one, a 2004 I think. The 2 x 12 inch version, not the 1 x 15.

Easily my favorite amp. Retubed with Eurotubes JJs. Stock speakers are great.

Just bought mine in 08. Bit of a stretch on the pocketbook but there's no doubt I should have done this a long time ago. Of course the first question that pops up is,"does the TRRI sound as good as the original. Let me settle this argument by offering this tried and true observation. "Money can't buy you love. But it can buy you something so close you won't know the difference".

Those 1x15 sound great. I was thinking of getting a 1X15 extension cab.

Speaking of turning down, I just blew my last spare fuse.

Can you believe the shop down the street stocks no fuses? Wha?

I guess that guy would get sick of me just buying picks and fuses. But Kp8 bought a guitar from him on my referral, so am I so evil?

I took a better look at it today, with fuses in hand.

I didn't blow the fuse; it is intact. Just a very faint sound with standby and power on, no power to the light bulb.

I think I had this amp on, got distracted for 20 minutes - and when the light went off I just assumed I'd turned it off. I had not. No smells. Any ideas?

Much obliged.

Looking at the schematic, there appear to be two connectors which get power from the transformer secondary to the tube filaments. (CP13 and CP14.) The pilot lamp is connected to this string also. Any of several things could be going on. One possibilty is bad contact at one of these to connecters. Another is a shorted bulb or a shorted tube filament. You could try jiggling the connectors first. If that doesn't get results, pull the bulbs and all of the tubes. If you then get voltage, then it's one of those. Plug each one back in one at a time until you get no voltage again. That will identify the bad tube or bulb.

I lucked out getting my '65 TRRI blonde 40th anniversary off of eBay earlier this year:

has any of you guys experinented with recording the TRRI?. Im having a heck of a job trying to catch the same tone as I hear when played. Killer tone when played...but very diffuse and hissy when recorded...like midrange is missing. Should it be played loud to get the sound?..puzzled here....tried many mikes in setup.

Not sure of the vintage of mine but somwhere int he 90's. It is all stock. It was my gigging amp for 2 years in college. Then I moved to OH and gave it to my Dad.

Cannot seem to get the pic to attach. Will try again later.

Does the '65 Twin Custom 15 count for this club?

Early '90's owner, black 2x12". No PA for Guitar? No problem! A 5751 in V2 sweetened it and gave it a little more room on the volume dial before it blows you out of the room. Only problems: a 12AT7 reverb tube went bad, and gave it a smoky moment when it burned a resistor and cap (curse you, PCB tight design - that was a challenge to fix!) and now the lamp socket is not working. That will get fixed when I have the time. Other than that, it has been great amp!

Only had mine a few years, but it's the real deal. Want to hear what a pedal really sounds like? Play it through a Twin and you'll know!

I'm givin' a buddies TRRI a once over, he said it just blew fuses and up & quit on him. Tubes are all good, new lamp, all the heaters light up (in standby) now, so I'll have to find a way to put some speakers to it and see what happens. Installed a 3 amp fuse as that was all they had at the local Radio Shack, whill try to scrounge up the right one this afternoon.

Is there a TRRI equivalent to the old Holton Hot Rod Deluxe page?

Shoot, this thing weighs a ton with the chassis OUT!!! Looks like the same speaker as my HRDx, which strikes me as odd. Owner sez it's too heavy, maybe I'll talk him into some Neos. Anyone know if a 15" will slot into the standard TRRI cabinet?

Just bought myself a TRRI, check out the thread (http://www.tdpri.com/forum/amp-central-station/227370-hnad-me-may-contain-traces-bf-goodness.html) I just made.

The serial number marks mine from March 1990. That's gotta be right at the beginning of production of the reissue wouldn't it?

I love the TRRI. It was my main gig amp for years until I recently got a steal on this '68 Super Reverb with Blackface circuit. I still bring the TRRI out for big gigs or I'll run them together.
