Was wondering if the fender original vintage and nocaster pickups you buy in the sets come with slot head mounting screws?

original vintage and nocaster pickups ??otiscottonwood June 9th, 2009, 11:39 PM Was wondering if the fender original vintage and nocaster pickups you buy in the sets come with slot head mounting screws? SteveY June 10th, 2009, 01:33 AM The Nocasters certainly do. Can't remember about the OV's. Maybe not. sjtalon June 10th, 2009, 07:15 AM Steve's right on the Nocasters, OV are Phillips, ( or the ones I got about a year ago are) surfoverb June 10th, 2009, 09:06 AM they should be slot head. Thats what they are on the guitar. otiscottonwood June 10th, 2009, 11:15 PM alder body maple neck what would your preference be between the two ? otiscottonwood June 10th, 2009, 11:18 PM or better yet which has the warmer neck pickup ajgus June 11th, 2009, 05:06 PM or better yet which has the warmer neck pickup To my knowledge, the OV has the warmer neck. The Nocaster neck is known for being very bright for a Tele neck pickup. Almost Straty. boris bubbanov June 12th, 2009, 11:45 AM All the ones I have bought have slot heads. I think they sound more alike than they sound different, in most guitars. Don't mean to sound cute, but the biggest practical difference is; The OVs are not RWRP and the No-Caster sets are RWRP. With a 4 way switch wired series/parallel, the No-Casters give you access to 2 really good noise canceled positions and this IMO is a serious objective. ajgus June 12th, 2009, 12:59 PM Just got my Nocasters. They have slot-heads. Sorry to hijack, but do they all have this much wax? Every square inch is covered in wax. The wires, the twine, even some on the fiberboard. Did some just get a little wax-happy, or are they supposed to be like this? |
