Bbender in a Strat

Can some show me a good Bbender installation for Strat

a Hipshot bender. It works very well and stays in tune.....JH in Va.

i did the same thing to my Roland Ready MIM Strat several years ago...works great; only thing i did was put a diffeent style bridge and saddles on mine...

Bobby Jo Stafford has a patent on a bender for a Strat....# 5,814,746...1996. I'm almost sure it was never produced, though looks viable.

I've got a Stafford, but mine is a Tele-style axe (with a Strat-style backplate).

It bends the B, G & A strings with the exact lever shown in the design above - kinda like the AB pedals on PSG.

It's a pretty neat design.

We'd love some pics!! Were they widely sold? Leo's bender patent in '71 was also poised to actuate multiple strings with one lever....Brilliant design....I think his prototype was said to be for sale a few years back.

I don't know about how far and wide the circulation was for this AXE, but I do know that I have serial # 13.

Thanks, very nice!! Apparently conceived to retrofit a vibrato equipped Strat with minimal or no mods, though with mods applicable to most guitars.

The Stafford design is a very simple, yet effective method of emulating the AB pedals of a PSG and is particularly nice when bridging the gap between 6 string and PSG (which I was when I bought it).

I actually found it in a "Mom & Pop" shop and when I asked if they had any inkling where I could find a bender guitar, they pulled this one out and offered it to me at a "steel" of a price. :lol:

The lever action appears push the guitar away from the player, horizontal action...correct. If so that is a good way to pull multiple strings...(I use horizontal motion in my ancillary pulls also) as the lever DOESN'T have to support the weight of the guitar as a vertical lever actuating the strings with a downward motion would and thus be prohibitive with a multiple pull due to it's dual function i.e. supporting the guitar's weight AND pulling three strings. It would be a tough pull. Multiple strings on one lever with your lever setup, would require minimal force to actuate. Nice Design!!

The bender is engaged by pushing the neck away and activating the lever which is attached to a lanyard on your belt.

And the "push" is very minimal to activate the bender.

I agree, my other benders are "vertical" rather than "horizontal", but to each his own. It got me into bending and helped me cross the PSG "bridge".

"Lucky" doesn't see much action, but the low serail # and it's uniqueness makes it a vital part of my collection.

It's a fun AXE to play and easy to get into.

I believe Steve Wariner has played a Strat with a Glaser bender in it for years.

Duesenberg make a palm lever bender designed especially for Strats.

I have a Higgins Peg Bender on my Strat which works fine (tremolo is blocked).

Check out the strat with b bender at B & W benders it is the third guitar down on the page listed below. Bender is in the horn like a tele bender. B & W says they can install on your guitar.
