Warmoth Tele Bass???

I'm playing bass in a working band these days and if I make enough $$ this summer the payoff will be that I get to build myself something really sweet from parts.

So, I emailed Warmoth to see if I could get the Tele bass body with the neck pocket for the Deluxe-5 neck (gotta have the LOW B, and It's gotta be full scale, in fact I prefer the 35" scale but they only offer 34") and of course they will do that for an extra charge.

But, they did level with me, it's not a real popular option and it makes the bass very neck-heavy

Any thoughts?

After all these years of playing and loving Teles I still don't have my double bound custom job

there's some real beauties in the Warmoth Gallery:

Ever played an ASAT Bass ? Unless the body is really, reall weighted down - past the point of 1 set playablility for me, it's a fearsome neck diver. So much so that some enterprising guy developed the Strap Extension fot it. OK - get's towards curing the neck dive but looks goofier than goofy... and your's would need to be longer yet to offset the additional weight.

Take their advice ... some things are not meant to be and physics says that bass is probably not one of them.

Yeah, the immutable fact is that a long heavy neck on a Tele-shaped body is gonna be very neck-heavy. No way around it!
