Trimmed&Burnin May 23rd, 2009, 12:24 AM Details are being ironed out for this years Back2Blues Fest,,,it's going to be a great festival this year!!! Goldie Locks will be performing with his band Dusty Shoes again this year as well as myself with the Trimmed And Burnin Blues Project. For details got to www.back2blues.com . Here's a few pictures of the guitar I've built and donated this year. Check it out!
Parma_TeleMon May 23rd, 2009, 09:09 AM Pretty piece of wood, Shannon! Nice work!

Thanks Parma_Telemon,
I cut that maple in 1992,,, I've still got the best piece but I'm getting down to the last of it. It's hard to tell just looking at the guitar but it's chambered and the top is carved to .18 thickness consistantly with the curve,, also it's a one piece top.. Those lipstick Humbuckers pickup quite a bit of the acoustic tone when played on clean settings. The Back2Blues Fest gets better every year, one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend is drawing the winning ticket for the guitar and handing it over to the winner..
The first year I did this the winner was not present but last year he was. It turns out that the guy has been on dialasis twice a week for the last six years and has been needing something to do as an outlet. We hooked him up with a good teacher,,,I'm courious to see how far he has progressed this year.
We raised $2800.00 on $5.00 raffle tickets to donate to the well drilling ministry last year. I'm hoping to do at least as well this at this summers Back2Blues Fest.
GoldieLocks May 23rd, 2009, 08:52 PM Thats an awesome looking guitar. I hope to get my hands on it backstage.
I'm really excited about the festival this year. Still trying to decide which speaker cab to bring. See you there!

Hey there Rod,,,
Yepper, I'm looking forward to seeing everybody up there to!! Gets better every year..
Glad you like the guitar,,,
Trimmed&Burnin June 19th, 2009, 05:41 PM It appears that the webmaster did not change the picture and info for this years guitar,, The new photos are up and the proper info will be up by tomorrow. www.back2Blues.com
I just recieved information that a law has recently been enacted that now prohibits Back2Blues Fest from selling raffle tickets online. Oh well, who is John Gault? We'd like to thank those (there are quite a few) of you who have already purchased tickets online and assure you that they will be honored by being in the bucket with all of the others at the time of the drawing. If you should win and are not present or able to pick the guitar up we will contact you and make arraingments to ship it. Tickets are available at the House of James bookstore in Abbotsford BC and will available at the Trimmed And BurninAmps/Guitars booth during the festival July 31-Aug 2nd. This means that less tickets will be sold and the odds of winning just went up  however it also means that this guitar will raise less money to support the water well drilling minstry that I built it for. Please pray for this worthy cause.
On another note,,,, the Back2Blues Fest scheduel is ,,,almost,,, done
We have a nice surprise,,, Eric Turner WILL be coming for the whole weekend sitting in with various bands like Larry Howard, Johnny Mannion Band and The Trimmed And Burnin Blues Project,,, lotsOfun. I'll have the scheduel posted on http://www.myspace.com/back2bluesfest by tonight.
Trimmed&Burnin August 6th, 2009, 01:17 PM Back2Blues Fest was great!! I'm still getting over the weekend LOL,,, worked my butt off but had a great time. Ashely Cleveland was Awsome!!! Dusty Shoes Band with Goldielocks on (mostly a Tele) and Casterway on bass had a really nice set, There were some bands that had not been there before like Jimmie Bratcher band and John Lee Sanders, these guys were awsome! We were honored with a call for an encore at the end of our set on Sunday,,,, but we were running out of time,,,
Overall the most amazing band to me was the Johnny Mannion Band (Belly Boy) Not only did they have their own killer set(s) but they were the go to band for all the guys like Larrry Howard, Eric Turner, and Darrell Mansfield. Johnny Mannion Band was the tone for the whole festival.
The 2009 Back2Blues guitar was won by Graham Ord, a BC Bluesman who has played at B2B's a number of times, a more humble, talented, and deserving guy would be hard to find.
The main goal of Back2Blues Fest is to buy well drilling rigs for water wells. We have located a rig. It costs $55,000, this weekend we raised $28,000 to put towards it. Back2Blues Fest really is "the best little Gospel Blues Fest west of Chicago". Well worth the trip from whereever you are to attend next year.
Nub August 6th, 2009, 03:58 PM Glad to hear it went well... it sounds like it was an awesome weekend!
Btw, I sure wish there was a B2B Fest in California... (hint, hint!)

casterway August 10th, 2009, 01:19 AM It was a lot of fun Shannon! Good to see you again. I was pretty intimidated seeing the acts we played in between, but I remembered to breathe and got through it!
Boy was Bush Wiebe a lot of fun! http://www.myspace.com/bushwiebe

Thanks! Goldi worked me really hard for that one. I guess I wasn't all that nervous because I was pretty well prepared with about 3 months of rehearsals, and was focused on my parts.
I was pretty loud, huh?
GoldieLocks August 13th, 2009, 11:13 PM What an awesome time as always.
I really wanted to hear Trimmed & Burnin' this year. But I had to work through most the weekend. I still managed to catch a few shows. What I saw was quite refreshing...It was way beyond just the generic blues rock that I hear at other festivals.
I'd like to try and get more involved next year. Although rehearsing sure takes up 100's of hours of commitment (and worth every minute of it). THis year was the first time I really felt like I was part of a band. Thanks Russ.
Next year I want to camp out and stay for the whole weekend.

The work you put in really showed,,, you guys had a great set! If you're interested in being "more" involved next year PM me and let me know what you're interested in doing ok?
BellyBoy October 7th, 2009, 02:23 PM We had a great time this year, getting to back my heros like Darrell Mansfield and Larry Howard. Shannon you guys were awesome. Goldilocks you guys rocked thanks for letting me sit in with Bush Weibe on background vocals. We had a blast, even playing our set and Larrys set while passing kidney stones, I had a great time. Funny how the pain is less when you are in stage lol.... Hoping we will be invited back again someday!
BellyBoy October 7th, 2009, 02:51 PM I got to play the Back to Blues guitar during Larry Howards set and it was just amazing! Shannon that was an awesome guitar! I would expect nothing less from you! thanks for letting me a Greg crash at your place the night before the festival... it was a long trip but you and Pam made us feel right at home! Heck even got Pam to shave my head lol!
Love you both... Please give my best to Cary, Glenn and Murray. Thanks for the awesome BBQ when we arrived.... That was some good roast beast!
