I played outside! In the sun! At the plaza downtown, for the National Day of Prayer. That's me growing out of the acoustic guitar player's head.

I played guitar -> Boss compressor -> Dunlop Wah (had that on for only a bit) -> AX1500G multieffect -> DI box to PA -> Frontman 25R, which I meant only as a personal monitor. I was going to be right next to the drummer, right?

Lessons Learned:

* Sunblock or hat if you're bald

* Not many indicator LEDs can be seen in daylight at noon, huh?

* I usually have the volume on the AX dimed so I can hear myself playing Wednesday. When I set it up at home, I drop the volume down to 30 or so. My DI has pass-thru, so I didn't want to give the soundman less, or really didn't think about it, but it did mean my amp could get a bit squeally in the bad, uncontrollable way.

But I enjoyed the playing, I helped my worship leader and we praised God. I even got some color!

I've learned,,, and relearned,,, the hat/sunblock thing quite a few times myself!!! Last weekend we played to 45,000 runner at a cancer benefit run. The year before we got cooked, this year we dodged the rain by 20 mintes before and after the gig..
Playing outside like that is very different from playing indoors,, I heard ya about LED lights.

I didn't put in my Danelectro tremolo pedal on there, but seeing as that thing's practically a night-light, its LED might've been visible.

Great picture!

Ditto on the hat. I learned from my father-in-law, after he had a piece of his ear removed because of skin cancer, that you must protect yourself while you are young. Otherwise, you suffer the consequences as you get older.

'owdy, I own/ use the AX1500G live myself. What's your opinion of the unit? Do you use the cab modelling at all? I bypass this function as I love the natural tone of my fender roc pro and use it purely for the effects. Very underrated unit!

My only gripe is having to press two switches at once to change preset channels. I can understand why you have the dunlop wah though, korg wah = weakness of unit (but still usable imo).

I do use the amp modelling. I do that because I run into a DI box most of the time. When I play at home, with my amp, I usually go direct and I like that sound. But yeah, it's a solid unit that has never been a problem with me. I'd like to have the switch to tuner mode be foot-switchable, but otherwise, I'm very happy.

I only use the pedal to be a volume pedal. If I get a separate volume pedal, I'll play with some of those settings.

The first occurance of getting sunburned from your eyebrows to the back of your head is solemn rite of passage.
