Hope these pick work. As stated in earlier post, I didn't want to spend a fortune on my first build and I wanted a bit of a hybrid, somthing different to the guitars I already own, so I got a Squire Strat new for $150.00 and have taken the neck and hardware off it. Built the body from an Australian hardwood called White Beech - very fine grain maybe a tad heavy. Will be putting a Humbucker in the neck and a Seymour Duncan Twang Banger in the bridge, leaving the strat pickup in the middle. Going to finish unstained with Tru-Oil . If it plays well I will then build a Tele from some Tasmanian Oak I have. Thanks to everyone for all the help and advice I have recieved. have learnt heaps during my first build and hopefully won't make so many mistakes with the next one.

That's gonna be one interesting guitar when you're done. Keep the pics coming.

Applied the first coat of Tru-Oil today. decided against any stain because the timber is so nice already. Tried a bit of stain on some scrap and it made it all too uniform - looked like a nice piece of furniture, not a hand made guitar. The oil has really brought out the character of the timber. Will apply a few more coats then finish with several very thin coats of buffing wax.
