After some thinking I am pretty sure I am getting an extra Thinline most likely something with humbuckers but I am really interested in putting some Fralin Jazzmasters in it.

are these pretty much p90's?

and does anyone have any info or comments they can give? what do these sound like? I did a search on google and you tube but could not find any sound clips.

Jazzmaster pickups are very different from P-90's. The coil on a Jazzmaster is as wide as a P-90, but much shorter. And the P-90 has adjustable steel polepieces with the magnet beneath; the Jazzmaster has fixed alnico polepieces.

I am not sure what Thinline I am going to get, I have a MIM reissue but it is the honey blonde (i guess limited edition) and I do not want to screw with it too much but if I end up getting another 72 reissue from Fender (either MIJ, CIJ, or MIM) will the routing allow for putting these in without further having to route out any more? Also, with the multiple no name thinlines with standard HB's in them, will these fit or will I have to route those out?

you'll have to excuse if some of this post does not make as much since as it should, I took an Ambien and it started to kick in, So off to bed I go.

Jazzmasters have a pretty big form factor, including those side-mount screws. A humbucker route isn't gonna cut it.

ok, I was thinking one of the 69 reissues with the mahogany body but I did not want to mess with routing but if I have to anyway I might as well go for it.

thanks for the info, and if anyone has more info on the sound of the fralin jazzmasters please let me know.
