I like 'em both! How thick are they and what would you use for the rest of the body?

The oak is gorgeous! I'd personally use it as the beck for an acoustic, but that's just me!

I like the english brown oak best of the two. Definitely no pick guard allowed!

Both pieces are really nice, not paper thin like someveneer. The oak is a little too small for an acoustic back unless it was a parlor sized acoustic. The picture does'nt come close to doing justice to the satinwood, the 3-d effect is hard to capture in a pic,the contrast in the in the light and dark in it is really something you have to see in person. The ebony pictured in my gallery is going on a mahogany body front and back, for a quasi rosewood tele kinda thing. The others will end up on one of the body blanks i have.If i remeber right i have alder, ash, pine and i'm pretty sure a limba (korina) one also. All i need is some free time,i have a danelectro pro-1 bass i'm making and working on modding the douglas tele i just bought the other day.

Wow - nice wood. Both are really nice, but I'd pick the oak with a natural finish.

Cheers,
