Yeah or nay? tele top woodTELE_BLUES March 20th, 2009, 07:11 PM This caught my eye today, here's a couple of matched pieces of english brown oak, good tele top? yeah or nay? http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/500/medium/MVC-027S.JPG scooteraz March 20th, 2009, 07:39 PM I for one think it gorgeous. Not sure how it fits into that whole Tele as beater thing  but it sure would make a looker. ToadLC March 20th, 2009, 08:21 PM That's beautiful. It would make a great Tele. ramseybella March 20th, 2009, 10:31 PM Is there a Law? Go for it. mwaym March 20th, 2009, 11:03 PM NOPE !!!! No teles in there !!! Just send it to me, and I will dispose of it properly !!!!!! TELE_BLUES March 21st, 2009, 09:10 AM I bought a few different cool pieces.I posted some pics of them in my photo gallery. TELE_BLUES March 21st, 2009, 11:22 AM If that does'nt push your buttons, how about this AFRICAN SATINWOOD. don't look if your prone to motion sickness http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/500/medium/MVC-030S.JPG Mark-00255 March 21st, 2009, 11:56 AM I like 'em both! How thick are they and what would you use for the rest of the body? iansmitchell March 21st, 2009, 01:09 PM The oak is gorgeous! I'd personally use it as the beck for an acoustic, but that's just me! three barrel March 21st, 2009, 03:09 PM I like the english brown oak best of the two. Definitely no pick guard allowed! HarpJim March 21st, 2009, 03:57 PM Both are really nice! But I would go for the first one... TELE_BLUES March 21st, 2009, 05:05 PM Both pieces are really nice, not paper thin like someveneer. The oak is a little too small for an acoustic back unless it was a parlor sized acoustic. The picture does'nt come close to doing justice to the satinwood, the 3-d effect is hard to capture in a pic,the contrast in the in the light and dark in it is really something you have to see in person. The ebony pictured in my gallery is going on a mahogany body front and back, for a quasi rosewood tele kinda thing. The others will end up on one of the body blanks i have.If i remeber right i have alder, ash, pine and i'm pretty sure a limba (korina) one also. All i need is some free time,i have a danelectro pro-1 bass i'm making and working on modding the douglas tele i just bought the other day. mkhhunt March 22nd, 2009, 03:30 PM Wow - nice wood. Both are really nice, but I'd pick the oak with a natural finish. Cheers, Murray Parma_TeleMon March 22nd, 2009, 06:40 PM Definitely no pick guard allowed! +1 Satinwood. Thinline, maybe? mrothacker March 22nd, 2009, 09:41 PM Make 2 guitars , and use use them both !!! 52Tele_lover December 5th, 2009, 06:35 AM Make 2 guitars , and use use them both !!! hell why not do that i mean your already planning one. steadyriot December 5th, 2009, 09:58 AM I say yes! |
