jack socket problem need suggestion

im working on a mim tele that the finish has chipped around the jack socket, need advice on how to cover it up, i tried an electrosocket but it didnt cover,just wondering if anyone has ever put a plate style jack on one before.

I've got a Les Paul style jack plate on one of my tele's, if thats what you mean. Works great, one of the best mods I have done

Just for maybe the last 50 years or so....used to be a very common Mod to install a Les Paul flat plate.
