which hex for Highway one truss ?zigaboo February 19th, 2009, 11:52 AM Help, I just got this 2006 Highway one tele and I cannot find the right tool to adjust the truss, the hole is very deep. Does it take a special hex ? thanks chandler51 February 19th, 2009, 04:50 PM It is 1/8" hex. The long leg of an "L" hex wrench generally works. I have a long "T" handle wrench for the 3/16" MIM but use a regular wrench for the Americans. Zeonoid February 20th, 2009, 04:40 AM I have had exactly same problem with mine and I end up selling it and buying boutique which is muuuuuuuuuch nicer Vizcaster February 21st, 2009, 01:51 PM Ditto on the 1/8" hex wrench, same as an American Standard. However the trussrod on Highway One guitars is not a biflex, so you can't back off the nut and keep turning past slack to try to adjust for back-bow. Another thing to consider if a wrench doesn't seem to fit right. You might have some sawdust or gunk in the socket on the trussrod nut - a little probing with a long sharp probe and a little compressed air will do wonders for this. |
