1x12 vs. 2x10

Looking to get my first blackface style tube amp. I was looking at Allen Amps' Accomplice and Encore models.
Encore: loosely based on the Vibrolux Reverb/35 watts/2x10 speakers

Accomplice: loosely based on the Deluxe Reverb/20 watts/1x12 speaker

My questions: What be the differences, if any, in tone and bass/treble response between these two types. Also, I will use this as a practice amp as well as small gigs, so would one amp give better tone at lower home volume or no real difference? Thanks!

But when I was shopping for a Dr. Z Maz 18 Jr., I had the chance to A/B the same amp side by side, except one with a 1x12 the other with 2x10. I found that the 2x10 had a silkier presence. I wound up buying the 2x10 version and have been very happy with it ever since.

Another example was when I was using a 1x12 Line6 cabinet as an extension. I replaced it with a small 4x10 Marshall closed back cabinet. Again, the mutli-10's were less directional and harsh than a single 1x12.

...I'm not sure, but I think I'm confused. ;-) I'm guessing there's a typo in your final purchase:
one with a 1x12 the other with 2x10. I found that the 2x10 had a silkier presence. I wound up buying the 2x12
But if there is, it's impossible to tell which way it would go. LOL Did you buy the 2x10? Or the 1x12? Or did you in fact get a 2x12? Just curious. :-) CS

P.S. Thumbs up for "Just Plano, TX" :-))
