I went today and purchased the strat i posted about a few days back. It is a MIM and in GREAT condition. It has a couple itty bitty scratches that you have to look for. I brought it home, tore it apart, cleaned the frets, re-strung, it and took it for a test run. It plays very nice. Guess how much I paid for it........nope! Lol, I paid $65 for the guitar, tuner, cable, and small practice amp! Thank you craigslist! Lol. The kid keeps telling me its a "Fender American Classic Stratocaster" we established on here a few days ago, but just incase this is some sort of Special MIM i'd like to know. I'm sure someone here can search it up

the serial is: MZ4133892

Thanks ahead of time.

But as you know, now that you've triggered our curiosity - how about a picture?

At least the neck was made in 2004 in Mexico.

Im certain the body is the original body. I got it from some teenager. Pretty nice kid. It was a guitar his parents bought for him a couple years ago. He said it was his first guitar. But yea I will put a pick on here in a few. I gotta take it with my blackberry. 2 MegaPixels! Woo! lol

Throw some Lollars, 57/62s or 69 CS PUPS and some new CTS pots and a new switch while you are at it,, You will be cooking with gas!

Oh, and a steel block for the trem.... ;)

That's a classic look - very nice!

What Rob said - new P/Us, electronics and a new tremblock - and you've got yourself a keeper.

At the price you paid for it (it was a steal Barz ...), there should be plenty of room for upgrading ...

Enjoy your new axe!

I originally bought it to re-sell it and turn a profit because I need a new amp, but I'm having second thoughts. The sound is so clean on it I'm very surprised by it. Just out of curiosity how much would I be able to get for it?

Trade it for an Amp maybe?? Just a guess on $$ 250-300.00??

Throw in a lobster [pay more than a dollar] and trade it for a used BJR or something...

yeah I paid around $300 for the standard tele I got used at GC. I'm in dire need of an amp. I own a fender frontman 25r thats stuck in drive and a Guitar Research(better of the two) t60r solo tube and I sometimes starts to hum or it will distort sometimes. lol. I got them both cheap on craigslist so I cant complain...too much.

tremblock

Perish that thought. Let a strat be a strat.

Perish that thought. Let a strat be a strat.

In my above post I mentioned a new tremblock as one of the possible upgrades. Obviously I was referring to a new sustainblock (in steel) to replace the old one in the tremolo. [Check the Callaham site]

I would not advice anybody to "Claptonize" their Strat by "blocking the trem"/hinder its function.

Hope you understand what I'm talking about - if not, I'm afraid I can't explain it any better. I did try ...

You might be able to trade it straight up for a used Blues Jr. Great amps! I picked one up used on CL for $365. Worth every penny. Great looking guitar, btw...
