Kinmans in a MIM Strat?

on a wave

G'day guys,

Im looking at upgrading my MIM strat to get away from the "thinness" to some more rockier, vintage sounds.

I generally plugged clean into a Vox AC 30 TBX. And im into indie, alt rock, prog and blues.

And to get those nice rockier, vintage sounds I was thinking about going with these pups:

AVn-Woodstock Plus set. Un-Aged sound.

Single pickups in this set are> AVn-69/AVn-69/Hx-85.

Some players have asked us for a fatter, hotter bridge pickup for the Woodstock set, one that has more output. Well here it is. As far as Strat* pickups go the new Hx-85 bridge pickup packs a real wallop and is approaching the thump of a P-90 (hence the designation of 85, Hx means hum cancelling). It has a fatter, thicker tone with thumping attack and output to match the high output AVn-69 neck pickup. Position 2 (bridge + Middle) is unexpectedly wonderful with unusually high amount of chime.

Our most powerful pickup for Stratocaster*, the Hx-85, measures 9.6K Ohms and has 4.3 Henrys of inductance....in other words it's an awesome beast that growls like a P-90.

I just dont want to go and spend about $400 on these guys and be dissapointed.

Thoughts anyone?

was what I had in my MIM Strat and it was the best Strat set I've ever played or heard...unfortunately I had to sell the guitar to get some more room (and to stay in discussion with my wife)...I should've kept the pickups! So, I suppose, everything Kinman does is good...
