Pickguard recommendation......

Guys; and ladies too I guess...I just got an 08 MIM std strat----beautiful candy apple red with maple board....white accesories and guard...
.......what color guard would you guys think would go best with the CAR and maple---also, keeping the white pup covers and knobs? I am looking for a vintagy; classy look if that makes sense.......:wink:

i think cream would look good if you don't like the white

I think white pearl looks nice with a candy apple....just depends if you are wanting it to look "old skool" or don't mind the look of modern styling....

I have a photoshop file that has different color bodies I have (had) and two different necks, and about 20 different pickguards, and black accessories, and white accessories, each on their own layer.

I've saved a TON of $$ (a heck of alot more than Geico) by 'building' photoshop strats.

tortoiseshell looks awesome on candy apple red with white pups and pots.

I'd stick to white (maybe parchment as well)

I'd go a cream or white pearl -I have a fiesta red strat with white pearl that looks damn good with red (to me anyways)-made some covers for the pick ups too

White pearl does it for me.

strange, because i have it on my CAR Strat. go pearl

..... and another vote for white pearloid. That is if you've ruled out white altogether - there is 1-ply white too you know ... :smile:

I'd go with white pearl. And if you can swing it, gold hardware. That would dress it up nice. Not to mention the gold tuners with pearl nobs really finish off the pearl pickguard.

White pearl or tortoise shell get my vote. You really have to go with what YOU like.
