Oh, jeez, I forgot about Johnny B. Goode, I gotta do that too! I have a few tracks of 'Wham Bam' layed down, I think I might start with that one.

'Tokyo polka' from Live in Japan is a goodie and not heard too often.

I recall a young Albert Lee playing it with 'Country Fever' late 60's early 70's, but really Lerb, we're happy with anything you do !!

Why the morning? Voices are usually lower in the morning. Also stay away from chocolate and dairy products before you record and your voice will thank you for it.

I'm Mr. Play everything in the original keys. I've recorded the song in the original key a Ab. The only problem is the my voice is still too low to sing harmony...

And I don't want to record the harmony down a step and then pitch it up. This ain't Alvin and the Chipmunks...

I think the next song I'm gonna do is "Above & Beyond". I honestly think I rushed too much with those last cluster of songs, so hopefully this one'll be better cause I can sing it without augmenting the key.

My silliness aside, I do play pedal steel, but only for about a year. I'm okay, nothing special, but like Luther Perkins, my playing gets the job done.

keep honking on that steel — after a couple of years, you'll get plenty of work! not too many young steelers rising up to take the place of the old masters who are fading into the sunset.

BTW, I also play pedal steel and I agree you should stay at it. We're losing our old masters and mentors at a rapid pace. John Hughey, Duane Marrs, Don Helms, Walter Haynes, Howard White all left us within the last year. Who's gonna fill their shoes?

Sure as hell, if you get proficient at pedal steel, the gigs will start rolling in.
