have a jensen p12Q which is a real screamer on the top but quite farty and indistinct down low - pairing it hopefully will give me better definition in the lows while retaining that screaming top end and that edgy top end tone i like in the p12q

any suggestions on a good mate for this speaker

btw weber is not an option as importing from the us is hopeless with our dollar currently buying around US$0.64

i can get jensen / celestion / eminence / lorantz / etone locally

How about a P12N?

Emi Wizard or C Rex will add balance and balls.

In my Victoria Double Deluxe, I have a C12N, and a P12Q, both Jensen reissues, because having one of each gives a wonderful "middle ground" sort of tone. The C12N has a great clean bass response, and is a bit bright, where the P12Q is warm, darker, and gets pretty sloppy sounding.

mmm - i find the P12Q quite a bright speaker but its only had a few hours playing

i looked at using another jensen actually but i thought the C12N may overshadow the P12Q being a more efficient speaker

the C12Q is close to the P12Q in spec

any further discussion most welcome
