About a year ago I went on a quest for a leslie/univibe type pedal. I thought I found it with the Fulltone Deja-vibe. However, a lot of times it sounded really harsh and horrible. So I sold it and got the Voodoo Lab Microvibe. All is well. Then I noticed that it had the same problem in some situations - harsh, brittle, yuck. Hmm. A little experimentation revealed what should have been obvious all along - these must be in front of any sort of overdrive or gain. Placing this thing at the start of the chain was awesome.
That got me thinking. I've been wondering if I blew it with the Deja-vibe because it really did sound great when I had it setup correctly.
I've also been wanting one with a rocker pedal so I can adjust the speed on the fly.
Soooo...
I was placing a big string/pick/supply order with Musicians Friend so I ordered a Dunlop RotoVibe. That should be here this week.
Then, I unexpectedly ran into a Deja-Vibe 2 at GC last night. It was even a stereo model. Uh-oh. They knocked of some serious $$ from the price so I got it.
I'm going to A/B the Dunlop and Fulltone as soon as I get the Dunlop. Stay tuned...

otherwise you will get the "Who's That Lady?" kind of vibe depending on how heavy the distortion is in front of it...if you get ever get a chance, check out Bob Sweet's Ultravibe...to my ears (and a lot of other folks') the best Univibe clone (I had owned the ones you mentioned prior to the Ultravibe)...

You should head down to Guitar Maniacs in Tacoma. They are selling some pedals made locally (in tacoma) called KR Musical products. The guy that makes em is a nut and he's obsessed with Hendrix but he made a Univibe clone that is absolutly amazing. He makes 2 Fuzz pedals( also Hendrix inspired)and a very 60's classic sounding tremolo. I bought the Tremolo on the spot(pedal #005). It's the most authentic and best sounding tremolo I've heard and I 've tried many as I'm a big fan of tremolo. It was so good I had to try the others. His Univibe clone (I forget what they call it) is unbelivable. It sounds exactly like it should, like a nos univibe. I'm not a fan of Univibes for what I play but was impressed none the less. Vintage guitar magazine did a write up on them (not sure what issue but fairly recently)with a half page color photo raveing about them. You should go check them out, they'll definatly blow the Dunlop/fulltone's away.

I played a party last night and tossed it onto the board. All I can say is "WOW!" It sounded awesome. I used it on a bunch of stuff and it really filled the sound nicely. Naturally I had to play "Bridge of Sighs" which worked even with me playing my Setzer Gretsch :)

Cool tones. I'm really, really happy with the Dejavibe 2 for now. I still need to hook it up in stereo!
