Recommend me some fat sounding, reasonably priced tele pickups (UK)

Preferably with an open coil neck look. I would like the pickups to be able to compete with the ceramic MFD's in my G&L ASAT.

I was just looking at these. Are they as good as everybody says?

Not too sure, I've never tried 'em but they fit your description.

I can certainly recommend the Fatbody neck pickup - I've got one and it's bloody brilliant, especially for the price but in general terms too. Tremendous pickup and a great bargain.

I can't comment directly on the bridge Fatbodies (there are two, one "regular" and one overwound to about 10K ohms), as I have a different and also excellent GFS bridge pickup in that particular Tele. One thing I have heard, though, is that very occasionally the baseplate of the bridge Fatbody has been known to come adrift as it's held in place by wax, not screws. Not a disaster and easily fixed.

I'd also comment that Jay of GFS is very good to deal with, his postal charges are very reasonable indeed and on the two occasions I ordered pickups from him they arrived from the States in just over a week.

I'm probably going to be using that guitar on Saturday night at a gig in the Holloway Road (late start). PM me for more details if you fancy coming along to have a listen.
