It doesnt do that on mine.

When I see a link from MF or Ebay that is long it just stacks up on the left hand side and I can clik any one of the several lines. Using IE 6.0 XP 800x600 screen.

I thought mine didnt do that so I went to some links and on an MF link I had to scroll way over but on all the ebay links they did the wrap around just fine no sideways scrolling needed.

Weird I see what you mean now Fuzzy.

Nothing can be done about it. I'd fix it, and have tried, if it could be fixed. Others don't complain because they are using a higher screen resolution 1024 by 780.

Some folks still use 640 by 480 and a significant minority use 800 by 600. But more than 70% of the users here are using 1024 or much higher.

The TDPRI officially strives to support 800 by 600, but that doesn't mean that folks can't put a link with 250 characters in it that messes with the dynamic page settings.

See, to work for 99% of the users it has to be set in a dynamic way that works at different screen resolutions. We ignore the 640 by 480 users and standardize on 800 by 600 and 1024 by 780 users. That way it's not too big for users with small resolution and not too small for users with higher resolution.

If I make it work for only Fuzzy, it won't work for the vast majority of other users. Fuzzy, the monitor you show in photos of your work desk is capable of higher screen resolutions. You choose to use 800 by 600. And this is what causes the problem for you.

Thanks

Just an idea:
When you quote someone, their name is inserted in the quote statement. If you only make a quote, it simply says quote.

What is was thinking is, maybe when inserting a links and hitting the URL tag, it would automatically format it with a 'Link' text. And people then could put in a more decriptive text if they wanted to.

So if I put in the URL of the Telecaster Gallery:
http://www.telecastergallery.com
selected it and hit URL, rather than today when I get:
[url]http://www.telecastergallery.com[/url]
Like this: http://www.telecastergallery.com

I would by default get
[url=http://www.telecastergallery.com]Link[/url]
Like this: Link (http://www.telecastergallery.com)

And I could of course change it to read:
[url=http://www.telecastergallery.com]Telecaster Gallery[/url]
Like this: Telecaster Gallery (http://www.telecastergallery.com)

This way it would make any link become nice and short. And it would teach people that there is a way. Not to mention that most of us, I at least, are lazy and don't bother even if we do know...

I think everyone would benefit from it, posters and readers alike, as it makes the posts more readable.
