Yup, that's the one !!, my first trip to Norway was a six week stint at a club called 'Silius' in Kr.Sand where i played with Roger Humphries for 6 weeks (8 shows a week).
Hard work but BIG fun !!, thats where the patch came from, it later went on to annoy a TV producer in Sweden and i think its more famous than me !!

I probably shouldn't do this but....

AS I've said a lot lately, anything for a laugh. Our band was playing a birthday party of a friend. the theme was 80's. We played a bunch of 80's pop tunes and all of us dressed up in an 80's theme. We had some flock of seagulls, some rockabilly types and me:

It got shaved off the very next day and I am reminded of the first thought I had at basic training all those years ago.... my head's a weird shape.

Anyways, I'm hoping to being back to looking normal in a week or so.... at least my hair might be normal.

It was originally a light blonde model, but over the years it aged a little redder... recently however, I've seen flecks of gray in the clear coat around the sides...

So I decided to refin in blue, but I've gone back to unfinished... eventually I think it'll grow... I mean go back to blond.

Yep, SQ12255. I bought it in 1984 of a guy I was working with. He said he'd bought it the year before. I fell in love with it and offered him the same as he paid for it (£200/£250 I think). I modded it (Oh lord!) in the late 80's with a Kahler trem (I broke the original trem arm doing Steve Vai stuff) and had the trem cavity routed to give me a bit more upward pull. I also stuck a DiMarzio humbucker in the bridge. Then I resurrected it a few years ago and got the urge to put it back as it was. Three new pickups (texas specials )and mint scratch plate (all off ebay) It's got a Wilkinson bridge now and an ugly bit of wood filling the hole. If this was a woman I should be in jail for what I did to her:oops: .I still love it but I have retired it now, paid for itself quite a few times over by now. Sorry to go on but old guitars are old friends really:lol:

I have several tele's and have been playing them for 40 years now. when my youngest son started playing guitar I bought him a $140 Epiphone SG. After he seem to stick with it we went to get him his first real guirat for christmas and it was an American Strat with 3 tone burst. I have to tell him not to buy the goth guitar that everyone was selling. Told him to get on that he will keep for the rest of his life. Strat is was.

A year ago he picked up my american tele delux with the strat pickup in the middle and phase switch. He decided to go tele all the way. This is him in the picture. I would also mention that his band is very big in our area and after a couple thousand kids saw him playing metal/screamo with a tele everyone seems to switch. Anyway - this is my guy. My other son is the drummer in the same bad. 15 years old and hooked on tele's -

I'm the center guy playing the fine looking toilet seat instrument. It is dubbed the "TeleCrapper" ..my total investment in that instrument (I hesitate to call it a guitar) is around $30. Got the neck for a dollar at a musician's flea market, the toilet seat cost me $5 at a hardware store, and the rest came out of my junk box. It has a Dimarzio pickup and no tone control. It does have a "More" switch tho.. The finish is sparkle from an art store, mixed with Envirolite, which is a two part epoxy finish. Rough as 40 grit sandpaper but looks good under the stage lights..

My dad built 5 toilet seat guitars and we did one bass. Three of them were built for Sam Ash emplyees after they saw the original (built around 1980).

Here's me about 5 years ago with the bass:

Looking good, Chris... looks as tho your dad used a bigger plank to back the toilet seat. Yours probably has better (or more) tone than mine. Great gag, though. My favorite line when using mine is "Liberace just called and wants his toilet seat back"....

For the guitars he used the lid as a back, the bass needed an extended bowl and a wood back to make it work. They're surprisingly cool, the best is when you go on break and someone sticks a roll of TP on your amp.

Thore Henki Holm Hansen, now there's a name you don't forget in a hurry !

He was one of the nicest and most helpful folk to Sandra and I when we first got out to Norway to live, yes, i know all the stories but to us he was always the nicest.
I remember he opened Ben-Thor imports in Oslo and was importing Harley's from the 50's and 60's from the US, oh boy there was some beautiful machines there.
I did a little recording with him too, errrrrr, his voice was 'unique' i guess you could say.
He wanted me to come over and play the 'Highwaymen' gig in Oslo too but i couldn't get out of the work i had here so had to miss it, that's always been a regret not to meet those guys and now of course it's too late for some of them.
This is a great pic of THHH .......
