gfs prem alnico II's

I'm looking to purcase a set of gfs pups for a strat partscaster. They seem like goods pups for a beyond reasonable price.

This is the quote from the gfs site for the Premium Alnico II's and exactly what I'm looking for in sound:

"Through a low powered tube amp these are friggin MAGIC. Think Jimi, think early Knopfler, John Mayer, Robin Trower- the kind of warm bluesy Strat sound you hear in your head- but is hard to recreate on stage." - gfs

Anyone have any experience with these pup's. I really like the sound samples from the alnico strat set. I would assume these are better?

I actually got a set before, and the funny thing is the sound samples they use for that set are the same ones used for another set...I had them installed, they sounded okay, but the bridge pickup pretty much died on me within a month or two.

Defective PUP?
