I am thinking of upgrading my existing Telecaster body. Can the American Deluxe Tele body fit my MIM standard maple neck? Does this body come with the special neck pocket cut for easy access to higher frets?

All I can add to this is my experience. 2001 MIM Neck was way loose in my 1999 American Tele body FWIW.

You will at very least have to drill one new hole in the neck. On the Deluxe body, as you have said, the body is swept back and it may leave uncovered the original outboard hole on the MIM neck on the lower horn side.

Depends on how you define the term "work", I suppose. You'd have to rout out the heel for a coin or something, or the tilt adjust will not function at all.

And I agree, it is more likely the fit will be loose, since the tilt adjust works better on guitars with looser pockets.
