mikespe August 28th, 2008, 08:27 PM I was just watching Danny Gatton's Strickly Rhythm but I lost the book so I am a bit lost. For those that have the video, the first rhythm pattern he does he uses the 2 note chord method. Now if I under stand th chords he plays uses the 3rd and 7th of the chord? However, from what I can see on th video it looks like he is playing the root on the D string...at least from thee names of the chords he calls out? I want to find a backing track to try out that rhythm.
If anyone has a copy of the booklet and could share a copy with me I would appreciate it. PM me if you can...
Thanks!
SatelliteOrders August 28th, 2008, 09:52 PM I have it. I have a scanner. I haven't installed the software.
If nobody else gets it to you, I'll jump on it.

HEY Thanks! I really appreciate it! Gatton can move kind of fast in his videos...great guitar player but as a teacher I am not sure!

iim7v7im7 August 30th, 2008, 01:07 PM Hi,
I don't have the video, but that approach makes great sense (two notes using the 3rd and 7th). These notes shape the sonic character of a chord. For example:
Major 7th = 3, 7
Dom 7th = 3, b7
Min 7th = b3, b7
I hope that makes sense.

The Skid September 4th, 2008, 09:33 AM If you wouldn't mind, I could use a copy of that booklet myself. Prost.
e-merlin September 4th, 2008, 09:55 AM Danny Gatton may have been a great guitarist, but if he spelled "strictly" with a K, he neede a few spelling lessons. I would have gladly swapped him straight up.
