hi guys
some help would be greatly appreciated:)
after a few weeks with my new hw1 tele (which i havent stopped playing) i feel its time to upgrade the pickups. the stocks in mine are really not great and very harsh through all of my amps....i really can not find too many vol / tone settings that sound good....but prior to changing pkups is there any value in playing with pots and caps??
i def need to change the volume pot, its currently all or nothing so will be attacked with a soldering iron anyway:)
i have read through quite a few posts on here and harmony central and are leaning towards GFS's, mainly for the costs....ive been through so many sets of humbuckers in other guitars that i can see the value in a cheaper pickup, and the reviews have been great:)
the good news is i know the sound im after, and its like this
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3kGifcHqSx0
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rXNc1Krj6_Q
pretty classic rock bridge, smooth creamy neck...does anyone know what gsf's would fit this? also any other options in this sound?
i have an ibanez artist with antiquity buckers and thats ounds great to my ears, similar to the above recording
btw and qotsa fans, josh is playing teles!! awesome!!
thanks guys for any advice!!
