I recently bought a used 1995 MIM Telecasster neck. I purchased Gotoh tuners (http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/tuners_6inlinegotoh.htm) (Part No.TK 0880-001) from GPR based on a recommendation from a someone on another forum. The bushings for these tuners are too small for the holes drilled in the peghead.
So, what do I do. Bite the bullet and return these. Or is there a conversion kit to make these tuners fit.
If I need to return them, what tuners do you reommend?

I saw some conversion brushings at Guitarfetish.com, but I have no idea of the quality since I've never used them.

Conversion bushings are the answer. Guitar Fetish should be just fine, but they are also available from AllParts and Stew-Mac. Could very well be the same Asian mfr.

Ouch ............. you paid a bit much for those tuners. Warmoth has the best price.

Thanks, guys. I'll try Guitar Fetish

Check and see if GFS carries Gotoh tuners. I think they carry other brands, and their conversions are I believe for those brands and NOT for Gotohs. Even if they fit, the plating is another color, IINM.
It is very strange that neither GPR nor Warmoth sell any conversion bushings for the Gotohs they sell, however. I can only suggest that Warmoth is facilitating completion of the necks they sell, and that assumes you have a vintage ream and don't need conversions. No real rhyme or reason as to what GPR is doing.
The ONLY source I can vouch for is Stew Mac for this item. ( # 3458 ) You have a tuner for a 8.75 mm ream and need a conversion for 10 mm, and they have that. They also have a conversion for a 10.5 mm tuner bore, ( #3459 ) that'd be most Squiers, but you don't want that; they just introduced that.
About $ 7 dollars for a set of 6 in matching nickel.

I just recently did this to my 95-96 MIM Tele. The tuners are Gotoh and the bushings came from Specialty Guitars. Worked great.

Stew Mac has conversion bushings also. I put them on a MIM Tele and American Strat and they worked out great. As an aside, I find that my Strat stays in tune better with the Gotoh Klusons compared to the stock Fenders.
