Reverb Pedal w/ Blues Jr.

I have a friend who uses 2 Blues Jr. amps, one with Greenback and one with V30 speaker. He did not like the reverb on the Blues Jr.'s at all, and had the tanks disconnected.

He wants to get a dedicated reverb pedal for his board to use with these amps. He plays Americana-type music that sounds similar to Uncle Tupelo to me.

Any suggestions or advice as to what pedals he should look at? Both the Holy Grail and Boss Digital Reverb are on his short list to check out...

Thanks!

Along the same lines as the two mentioned, I nominate the Marshall Reflector (which I use) or the Line 6 reverb stomp box (don't recall its name). These will give him several options for types of reverb. I like using the plate setting on my Marshall that gives a bit of slap back that I think works well for alt-country/rockabilly stuff.

Also, since he's running two amps already, a pedal with stereo outputs could probably be put to good use.

Actually before getting a pedal try the Ruby Reverb Replacement (https://www.mojomusicalsupply.com/item.asp?pid=21380&pg=45003&id=4040105) tank. Mojo is out of stock but you can get them here (http://torresengineering.stores.yahoo.net/newru3spshta.html). I have read nothing but good things on this tank and plan on putting it in my Blues Jr.

Great link, thanks. I struggle with the reverb on the Blues Jnr. I love the amp & did upgrade the speaker. The reverb was it's one weak link so I reckon I'll give these a go. Ta

I like the Reverb on the BJ. What's the complaint about it specifically?

Thanks for all the suggetions!

The main complaints he has about the Blues Jr. Reverb is that he feels it sounds "thin" compared to other Fender reverbs and also that it is a "tone drain".
