New PU's for Vintage 70's Strat

I picked up a nice American Vintage 70's reissue Strat with the natural finished ash body and RW FB. Love the guitar, but am not crazy about the PU's. They are just too lifeless and bland sounding IMO. I'm not even sure what kind of PU's these are. I think they were made specifically for this guitar, but I could be wrong.

Anyhow, I'd like to change them and was looking for some recommendations on what might work well with this guitar. I see the 57/62's often mentioned in other threads and I briefly owned a 50's players Strat that used these PU's and I liked them allot, but that guitar did not have an ash body.

I'm primarily and rhythm player and play classic rock, folk or country most of the time.

Lindy Fralin vintage hots 3% underwound. Perfect match for that guitar, well any guitar actually.

-You could also check out the Fender Custom Shop Fat 50s or Custom '69 p'ups. Or you could go the way less expensive route and check out GFS Premium II set for $70.

Or go the more expensive route and check out Budz. Or a hundred others. I think it's hard to make a bad choice these days.

Yeah, lots of people are winding great pickups these days and in my experience, the highest price isn't always the best pup. look for the sound you're going to need. If it's a 70's strat, are you looking for the greybottom hendrixy thing?
