has anyone ever tried this?nicktele5150 July 12th, 2008, 07:20 PM i was thinkin and has anyone ever put widerange humbuckers in a strat:?: Troels July 13th, 2008, 02:15 AM i was thinkin and has anyone ever put widerange humbuckers in a strat:?: No, but a violin neck on a Strat is great... not to mention bass strings  Ethical July 13th, 2008, 06:22 AM Didn't Fender do a double humbucker strat? they marketed it as the Big Apple Strat or something similar. Mind you, I might have just dreamt it  Ted e-merlin July 13th, 2008, 10:58 AM Didn't Fender do a double humbucker strat? they marketed it as the Big Apple Strat or something similar. Mind you, I might have just dreamt it  Ted Yes, but not with Wide Range pickups. boris bubbanov July 13th, 2008, 11:37 AM No, but given the pool of really hotly sought after wide rangers is so small, I don't see the point of the exercise. The current ones going in the MIM 72 Reissues are weak tea, as far as I am concerned. Meanwhile , there are so many unheralded pickups to experiment with. I won't be ready to try any true HB in a Strat till I've tried more base plates on existing s c models, tried more P-90s and MFDs and and most of all, this very neat new T pickup installed in the bridge of the "Darling" and the "Dalmore", from Bill and Becky Lawrence. nicktele5150 July 13th, 2008, 11:56 AM i know fender makes the big apple strats but i thought it would be kinda unique if a strat had wide range humbuckers either fender or rio grande wideranges maybe even throw in three like on john 5's tele deluxe.ive just never seen it done and i wanted to see if anyones done it. |
