Hi guys. I'm putting together my parts list for a 72 Reissue Deluxe partsaster. Has any of you used the Hipshot hardtail for a Deluxe? I'm concerned about the fit. Any other suggestions for bridges?
Another thing I was thinking about is getting one of the strat hardtail bridges off Ebay and maybe just replacing the saddles on them.
What's your take on the stock bridge for the Deluxe reissue?
Thanks.

Gotoh GTC-102 ? About $30-40...

This is what I have in mind for my 2 HB one piece alder Tele, with the hole sequence shared between the hardtail strat and the 72 Deluxe/Thinline:

+1 on the Glendale. If I were to build a guitar (esp. '72'), that's the one for me!!!

I thought about the Gotoh for the Deluxe but that means drilling 2 extra holes which I don't know if there's going to be room for.

dualband, your original question is asking about this one (http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Electric_guitar,_non-trem_bridges/1/Hipshot_Hardtail_Bridge/Pictures.html#details) from StewMac, right?

I haven't used one and don't know about the fit, but StewMac specs online (and attached here) include information you should be able to use to see how it would fit on a specific Tele body.

That's the one. Thanks for the info.

I got my 72 RI Tele deluxe body. Took measurements right away and unfortunately the Hipshot won't work. String spread on the RI since it's patterned after the vintage is 2-1/4". So I have to settle for one of the vintage bridges. Thanks to everyone who helped on this.

For the moment I have a Callaham 6 bent steel Strat hardtail bridge assembly on there; really really nicely made:

But I also have a 3 piece alder Strat hardtail body, so in the end, one will get the Glendale 3 brass 1/4 inch barrels, the other this fine Callaham. $ 64.

I nkow the Callaham's are good. What's the string spread on that?

Just wanted to point out that it's actually 2 7/32", not 2 1/4" (1/32" difference, for anyone Googling Tele Deluxe or Callaham Hardtail string spacing).

Yes. 2.21 inches, something like that. And the Hipshot which is depicted is said to be 2 + 1/16ths inches, or 2.080. So, 1/32nd may or may not matter, 5/32nds almost certainly will matter.
