I posted before that I bought a new Strat bullet ( 4th sale GC $79) that I picked out from three because the pups sounded better. My intention as a project was to change pups, tuners, refinish neck etc, but as i've been playing this axe the pups don't sound half bad, they're pretty hot, but get's muddy on the one & three positions with a little volume. When I play the out of phase positions they do ok, also the tuners aren't slipping like many do.
Do any of you Bullet owners have the same experience or have my ears gone to the dogs.

If your ears have gone to the dogs, so have mine. I had the same kind of plans for my Bullet Strat, but like you, I played it for a bit and... sonofagun, it works pretty dang well as-is!

IMO, Bullet ceramic pups are quite harsh toned, to my ears. The super cheap stock tuners have horrid gear lash. My 6th Bullet is due to arrive tomorrow and will get the obligatory mod makeover ...

The bridge pup *does* sound harsh, but the neck pup isn't too bad for some reason. Q Rob: What are the most reasonable priced tuners I can get for a poor musician & where can I purchase them...thanks.

These are the tuners that I used on my two modded Bullet Strats :

They look great, and feel just as good as they look. Very solid, no slipping, no gear lash. This is what they look like on the two guitars :
