I've checked the RCA cables that connect the reverb tank, and they are good.
Any other suggestion of things I can look at myself?

Reverb just died on my Dual Showman Reverbchales July 7th, 2008, 01:14 PM I've checked the RCA cables that connect the reverb tank, and they are good. Any other suggestion of things I can look at myself? teleamp July 7th, 2008, 02:34 PM Make sure you exercise the connections well. If not a bad connection, then check the tubes on either side of the reverb transformer. blue metalflake July 7th, 2008, 04:21 PM Check the connections inside the tank. Solder joints can be prone to breaking. Tremo July 8th, 2008, 02:11 AM If you hit the tank while the amp is running, do you hear the springs crash through the amp? If NO, then theprob is in the recovery circuit, try a new 12AX7. If you do hear the crash, the prob may be in the drive, try a new 12AT7. chales July 8th, 2008, 08:10 AM Thanks! jhundt July 8th, 2008, 12:15 PM that happened to my PR2. Took a little while to figure it out. The cables were good, the tank was good, the tubes were good; it was just that the RCA jacks were oxidized. I cleaned 'em off just a little with some fine sandpaper and everything works great again. chabby July 8th, 2008, 01:27 PM Did you get it working- more than likely Tremo hit it on the head with the preamp tube going out. That is usually the cause of reverb going out thankfully, as it is an easy fix. |
