I love my AC15, I bought it used but it was in mint condition cosmetically and sounded great.

Its a 2003 and I play on it atleast an hour a day or more if I don't work that day. I want to get this done before I go to college so I can afford it.

How much is this gonna cost? What do I need and can I do it myself? What kind of tubes should I get and where should I get them from?

Thanks in advance. Jenix.

Nice amp!
From Vox website:
"Valve/tube complement: 2 x EL84/6BQ5 & 2 x 12AX7/ECC83"
I'd check eurotubes.com for some JJ's. I put their JJ's in my AC15H1 and it sounds fantastic. Real easy swap too: your amp is cathode biased I believe, so that means you don't have to do a thing except put the right tubes in.
From EuroTubes website:
"VOX AC15CC Standard Retube
Price: 41.00
Description: Add some warmth and sparkle to your AC15 Custom Classic. A matched pair of JJ EL84's and two ECC83S's with one of them balanced for the phase inverter. Just let me know in the comments section if your looking for max headroom, moderate or an early breakup so I can select a proper grade for the power tubes."
Good luck!

thanks for the response grateful ed. I'm glad Its something I can do alone. I dunno what kind of power tubes I need. I havent messed around with that part of my tone before. Whats in there now is what I liked but I dunno if there is something else I would like better.

The sockets will appear the same, so be careful which tubes you put where.

EL84's are longer/taller and go in the power tube side sockets.

+1 re: Eurotubes

Doug can set you up with a nice set of JJs and you'll be all set.
