Hey guys. I am wondering why Dumble-style amplifiers need this kind of Dumbleator device for their effects loops. Is there any risk of not using one? Any info would be appreciated, -Jack

Folks gush about Kleinulators and Dumbleator type BS. From what I understand the FX loop is normal, so any sort of weird device isn't "needed." A lot of folks say it makes things sound better though. jackdc100 July 6th, 2008, 11:59 PM Isn't the signal coming out of the preamp too hot for fx units or something? stantheman July 7th, 2008, 09:58 AM I'd like to have someone really great do an autopsy on a real Dumble. I have a feeling the really great ones used really great solder - not the stuff You buy in the local hardware store. The secret's in the sauce. Since I got the Sparkle Drive for The Twin Reverb I have no lust to own one or buy even a clone. It nails that whole "Caught In The Crossfire" "Hill Street Blues" thing without effort. For what the real thing goes for I can buy an L-5 and an XJS Convertible - and Lunch. jackdc100 July 7th, 2008, 02:46 PM I would never buy a real one either, but my clone sounds really amazing. It really has an exellent Fender-like clean sound and a master-volume overdrive that sounds really nice. It is very touch sensitive and sounds awesome, even at low volumes.
