Strat with Gibson Scale Neck?CodeBlue July 4th, 2008, 08:29 AM What difference does it make in both sound and feel to replace the 25.5 Fender Scale with a Gibson 24.5 scale? Appreciate any input! magicguitar July 4th, 2008, 08:43 AM Hmmmmm, it might 'sound' ok and it might feel ok as well, but I think you'll have nothing but tuning and intonation problems from the get go. I don't think mixing scales works. What do others think? Edutainment July 4th, 2008, 01:20 PM You'd have to move the bridge, then it'd probably be fine. That might be cool. The best of both worlds sorta. How it would affect the sound, I don't know, but to get it to intonate correctly, you'd have to move the bridge a bit. rhh7 July 4th, 2008, 02:09 PM Squier by Fender Vintage Modified Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar comes with a 24.75" scale, the same as the Gibson Les Paul...$279.99 at Musician's Friend Bullwinkle July 4th, 2008, 06:58 PM check out Fender Jaguar. kyle1167 July 4th, 2008, 10:09 PM Check out Warmoth, I believe they make a conversion neck so you wouldn't need to move the bridge. |
