Are you using the EQ as a boost or a tone shaper?
Keep in mind your pickups on your electric is going to be a lot hotter than your acoustic. Your basically boosting the high end and getting the hiss. Try pulling back the frequencies on the right (if it is a graphic EQ) and see if the hiss goes away or at least lower than your guiatr signal. And check to see what the EQ settings are on your amp. You should really set all the sliders to the center and then gradually start adding (or subtracting) frequencies to your liking.

those things hiss when you move the freq. sliders away from the center postions.
You can use it as a boost...with the level slider moved up..but if you slide the others around....hiss
And isn't that what you wan the pedal for? to adjust freq.s?

I use min in the effects loop and not only do I not get any hiss, but it has a more noticeable effect.

Try using the pedal in a "subtractive manner." Instead of boosting the crap out of everything, try reducing the bass to get more treble, or try reducing the treble to get more bass.
If you're using a lot of gain, any pedal is going add a lot of hiss, but working the EQ in a subtractive manner instead of a frequency boosting manner should allow you to get the sounds you're looking for with less hiss.
