They Don't Make 'Em Like They Used to

I've been working on modding my Small Clone Reissue recently and went to put it back together on Sunday. I obviously don't know my own strength. :rolleyes:

I'd been thinking about replacing the jacks for Switchcraft ones and getting rid of the PCB-mounted pot. Guess I have my reason now.

Don't feel bad. Even the original EH's were flimsy, IMO.

I have a ram's head Big Muff that's in an aftermarket box because the original was deformed beyond repair. It has the original pots, but they're garbage, too. The main power supply cap is "welded" on the edge of the board with solder...

I've also got a Russian Muff that has the most bulletproof enclosure, but flimsiest PCB on the planet. Recently while backdating it to "triangle" specs, I ripped just about every track on the board. When I rehouse the ram's head, I'm going to dupe the board about 5-6 times (I clone this pedal A LOT).

The EH pedals really belong in Hammond style boxes, but I have a newfound hatred for them.

What I'd like to do is put one in a Boss enclosure, but that will require buffered bypass, unless I want to go to a submini 9V relay setup.

Great circuit designs at the cheapest cost in parts!
