Romeo Rose used a RMC limited edition.

gotta give it up to Romeo Rose 'cuz he hates SRV and he has an SRV pick.

I likes me a Vox, myself.. I have a Vox King Wah and another Vox Wah that
used to belong to the late Jim Ellison of Chicago band Material Issue.

I've had both of 'em tweaked up at various points - new pots that aren't all
crackle-y, and one of 'em has a custom-built inductor I got off eBay from
a fellow who also installed it for me. I only wish that I remembered his name
because I would give him mad props for his excellent work.. my bad!

I've got the Homebrew Electronics Medicine Bawl Wah. I like its tweakability, especially the internal gain trim pot. You can go from sweet vintage to hot and nasty. Sounds good with Tele too, which is an important factor since that's all I play these days.

I've owned an '80's Crybaby, Vox v847, Ibanez Weeping Demon, and a Budda Bud Wah.

But in reality, I rarely use a wah anymore, especially since none of my bandmates like the sound. They always give me the hairy eye-ball when I dig into it, so most of the time I just use it to annoy them. It's more for home shredding these days, although I do like the way it sounds combined with my Micro Vibe.

I like the Dunlop Classic. Its true bypass, has a repro fasel inductor and sounds good. Best of all I picked it up used for $50

Ive got an Original Crybaby... which is not the best wah ever...but since I use it just about never, I dont feel like going to find the best wah...it just sits with some other pedals looking all cool and ready for action...I haven't even scuffed up the rubber yet and the plastic is still on the cover plate.

The best two I've had were a Vox Clyde McCoy Signature and a Coloursound, both original versions. The Coloursound was the better of the two.

I have the Dunlop 535Q and love it for its tweakability. It can be dialed in to sound very similar to most other wahs out there.

i have a dunlop classic brand new only used a few times. i wasn't aware that it was true bypass! That's cool!

i been doing a back and forth test today with one of my picture wahs and the dunlop classic. the picture wah has a lot more upper mids and highs which keeps leading me to turning down the tone pot on the guitar a lot more than the classic wah when used.

but my rmc picture wahs have been pretty reliable on the road and also geoffrey from teese is great with customer service! Cool dude!

i might want to try the rmc wizard wah.

I have a Crybaby "Original". I don't think I'm good enough to use a wah yet...but sooner or later, (actually much later), I'll probably have it "Keeley'ed".

I had a Morley Vol/Wah that was an okay wah when it wasn't scratchy, loved having vol/wah in the same pedal. One night after a couple beers it was scratchy and I stomped it flat with my boot. I now have a Vox 847 which is a better sounding wah, but I miss having a vol/wah in one pedal.
I like having a wah for no other reason than trying to play funk and 70's porn stuff.

Hmmm... gotta scratch my head on that one. How does a Morley sound scratchy when it's an optical resistor, not a mechanical one?

Anyway, I've had an old 70s power wah boost by Morley, but I don't like the white noise that it makes, like the ocean sound. So I just bought a newer Morley Pro II fuzz/wah/vol with wider sweep frequencies (shoot the old one had that). Since they changed the circuit from 3 transistors in the old pedal, to an op amp variety of circuit, they cleaned up the white noise completely. That's what I was looking for. The distortion is ok, but I haven't spent allot of time with it. Volume is clean as a whistle.

I think most of the noise on the Vintage pedals was because of the built in transformer. The new ones are 9 V and can run off of battery or AC adapter. The old ones were running at 25 and 50 VDC and 60 cycle noise was pretty obvious.

I have a 15-year old crybaby that I've recently had serviced and modded for true bypass and a LED. Started playing with the wah a lot more and it does what it says on the tin, to my ears. Never tried anything else.

I love my Area 51 wah, it's nice & mellow... I don't feel the need to look anywhere else:

I have a Morely Bad Horsie II. My only complaint is that I cannot set it at a certain level of tone disturbing levels and walk away. But for wah'ing, it's great. Very smooth action, adjustable tone sweep and volume levels. And it's veyr quiet in operation.

Lance has a Fulltone Clyde. It sounds pretty good. I belive it's true bypass.

Wah's break a lot. Seems to me, even the really expensive ones do. The one that seems to sound best, offer the best value, and survive a heavy gig schedule is the 535q. Seems more reliable for some reason than the other JD offerings, and even, in my experience, the Fulltone. Sounds really good too.

Which wah (of the new ones) do you think would give me the most accurate Hendrix quack? I was thinking about RMC4, Area 51 or Budda wah... So what do you think? :)

Three Wah pedals Left is a Chicago Thomas organ Co. in Vox box had a Stack of dimes but I didn’t like the way it sounded after the Tropical fish replacement or before for that matter, replaced the inductor with the Morley HQ2 inductor this sounds almost like a Chicago Iron Para Wah Mutronish very vocal but travel sensitive not much pedal travel but real funky!!
The second is another Thomas Organ Co. (Sepulveda CA.) board in a Vox box with a TDK inductor not much mod here just tropical fish caps it sounds real wet Porno 70’s funk nice pedal good full travel and very vocal as well.
Next is a Wilson Adjustable Wah in a Cry Baby box this is a nice board sweet and fat wah good full sweep!

You guys have to try a ZVex Wah Probe when you get a chance. I gigged with one for years and then foolishly sold it when I decided to downsize. I just went wah shopping again a few months ago and I don't like any wah nearly as much as the Probe.

No moving parts, very vocal wah with a hint of phasing. I just can't enjoy any other wah!

Just bought an Ibanez Weeping Demon yesterday. I love it so far. Extremely versatile. You can control Q settings with the twist of a knob. Sounds great clean and with heavy distortion. Seems to be well built and logically designed. The auto wah switch or whatever is kinda cool.

I like the Vox Clyde McCoy...But I need a wah so I think I'm gonna get a BYOC drop in and drop it into a Dimebag Darrel Crybaby housing I've got.

I used to have one of those and regret selling it when I was cleaning house a couple of years ago.

I was going to sell my HBE wah, but have finally found a use for it in the band, w/my bandmates' encouragement. Seems we're going to cover a couple of Jesus & Mary Chain songs, so it'll come in handy. Yay!

used a crybaby. Now use a Vox and love it but if I have the skills to mod it I could see myself doing that.

+1 on the head-scratching. My Morley wah/volume is the only wah I've ever been able to like, partly because of the optical circuit (and it's never had enough white noise to bug me.) Also, it is HUGE which suits my size 13s. I also wonder how you would stomp one flat. They ain't pretty, but I bet you could park a decent sized truck on one with no harm done.

I have a Morely Bad Horsie II. My only complaint is that I cannot set it at a certain level of tone disturbing levels and walk away.

Is it spring-loaded? 'Cuz my old WVO can be set at any point in the sweep and left alone.

I've played and owned some really old wah pedals and they all worked fine. It is true that some parts wear out, like the footswitch and pot , but overall they seem to hold up as well or better than many other vintage pedals.
I just got a 70's Thomas Organ wah, it needs a new pot and while I'm in there I'll change it to true bypass w a new switch, but I'm thinking it could easily go another 30 years.

Romeo Rose? I talked to him a few years ago...how does everyone know him?
